It has been compared to the Caribbean for
its tropical beauty.
Captiva's beach has white sugar sand, speckled by pretty and unusual shells.
It has lush tropical vegetation and is cooled by gentle sea breezes.
The area has some of the warmest winter temperatures of the country.
Dolphin, Manatee and waterfowl sightings are common.
Adults will find plenty of ways to relax and
children will discover abundant ways to keep themselves occupied.
Sunset
Captiva
is located on the Gulf of Mexico side of
Captiva Island in the heart of its Old Florida style village. It is a
private exclusive community of 59 homes. These homes are single family
dwellings and detached from one another. Seven homes are beach front. All the
homes are less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and most of Captiva's lovely
shops and restaurants. Some of the owners use their homes as their full time
residence, and some are rented.
In addition to the 59 homes, there are also 10 Bayside condominiums. The Bay side condominiums share the amenities of the community and have a lovely view of the bay looking toward Buck Key.
Villas must be rented on a 7 night minimum basis. Most are on a Saturday to Saturday schedule.
